i was driving on the freeway this afternoon, and i noticed that the steering wheel was vibrating alot when i applied the brakes, is this a sign that the brake pads are gone? its from an ef fairmont

Could be several things. As simple as loose wheelbearings to full brake overhaul. If the rotors are rooted don't stuff with the factory ones. They are notorius for being soft. Go straight to slotted rotors.

your rotors are warped, happened in my old VS. Usually you will find if the steering wheel shakes its the front brakes, if the pedal shakes then its rear brakes. (i think?)

steering wheel shake could be either rotors aint true (not straight) or ya whel bearing loose if ya pedal feels like its sinking a bit further then usual then id say its ya bearings if not then rotors need machining cheers brett
