Just curious if the AU2 or any of the XR range had a black & grey knob? As i know they had the black and blue and black and red but not my thing with the colours lol..

And the BA's had only silver and black or did also come in full leather? :)

thanks! ll

why dont you just get one made to suit your colours???

just go to a trimmer with the knob, pick out the leather, and stitch colour, and get them to retrim it.

cheaper than buying a new gearknob!!

With the BA knobs i think they're glued on so i'm pretty sure its near impossible to get it off without damaging the leather.

sorry to hijack thread - but on a similar note......

My T5 Gearbox has a strange gear lever coming from it.
It looks like its been hacksaw down smaller and the thread for the gearnob filed off (to fit a chrome gearknob with no thread)

I dont mind the gearknob, but it gets so hot in summer i have to keep a stubby holder in the car to put over it so I can change gears.

Anyway - the point to my question is, how hard is it to a) find a new gear lever stick and b) change it over to my gearbox...

Are there just some bolts holding it in place???

Cheers,
Adam

Try a wrecker mate. They are not hard to change - it's only two bolts holding it in. Just lift up the vinyl boot around the stick and you should see 'em.
May want to give Ford spares a call and price one too - just to cover all bases.
With a new standard fit gearknob and new stick, should only take ten minutes.

For AU you can get (in leather):

All Grey (Fairmont)
All Black (Fairmont)
Metallic Blue/Black (XR)
Blue/Black (T-Series)
Red/Black (XR)
Grey/Black (T-Series)

Here are some of the colours:
https://www.autotek.com.au/shoponline/s ... to.lrg.jpg

The one on the very left is the Blue/Black one, and the one on the very right is the Metallic Blue one.
