well im looking at getting some new brake disks, starting to beef up the power so i want to be able to stop a lil better. if i decided on bigger ones at the front can i use the same caliper (would i need a new bracket?) or do i need new calipers?

Usually you can get a bracket that bolts onto where the old caliper would sit.
If you want a little more stopping power try getting slotted rotors with better pads and some stainless steel braided brake lines. Or maybe try and get hold of upgraded BA XR8 ones. I am assuming its for your BA V8 ute? |

its a 3v xl ute. i was looking at 298 dba slotted rotors at the front and what ever the stock ones are at the back. are the braided brake lines worth it? i've heard they're better but dont know much about them

braided brake lines will firm up the pedal abit, and will also help reduce fade to a point.
essentialy they stop the line from expanding after heavy or repetitave breaking.

dba's and a good set of pads will help alot.
im running dba's and lucus pads, and ive had them smoking and they were still pulling up hard. i havnt tried stainless lines but will be getting a set soon. |

Dont forget getting bigger rotors without changing the calipers is a bit on the useless side. You need calipers and pads that cover the entire disk, otherwise your still using the same surface area and it will be further out from the centre so less effective.

i kinda thought that timmeh, well i might just have to go standard rotor size, cant afford bigger calipers yet
