Gday,
I recently scored a working PS unit and want to tidy it up a but before I put it in. Does anyone know any tricks to getting the pulley off? Ive tried grips + allen key + hammer to no avail. Im guessing it is a standard right hand thread so it tightens itself as it runs....hope Im looking at it the right way. Thanks.

maybe take it to a power steering place and get them to take it off for you?

AFAIK, it is pressed on. The Allen key hole is just so you can hold the shaft in one spot.

As a builder of power steering pumps and racks, i would say to take it to a steering joint, unless you want to pull the pump apart and then press it off your self. that would be your only 2 options.
May i ask why you wanna take it off in the first place?

Buy your new seal kit from a Holden dealer, They are about $20, ask for 26091699 |
