hey guys have got a set of 20 inch rims 30 series 255 wide on my ba xr6 ,i woulld like to know if its possible to drop the suspension 55 or 60 mm without major tyre rub has anyone else done this?and is it possible to roll the inner guard lip without bodywork and repaint? thanks in advance.

with 20"s and espesciually since your gonna lower it id say most certainly yes it will scrub on speed humps and sharp corners....and also yes to the 2nd question....u can have ya guards rolled without crackin the paint if done by someone who knows what there doin...its only then that if it still needs to be be rolled/flared/pumped more then they ask u and keep goin until its enough or the paint cracks n then they just do it until theres no scrubbing but you'll have to have the panel painted...

and dam 255 thats a wide tyre :P why not 265 or 275s lol

yeh I wouldnt try rolling the guard yourself or anything, get a pro to do it and u wont have a problem

make sure u post up pics, runnin on 20's always looks good

yep will ask a pro for sure ,thanks for comments ,and i will post, some pics once its all done ,im putting dobinsons super low springs in ,havent heard much about these springs but have had king springs and lovell on other cars(ride as rough as hessian underpants}cheers harley

hey i just went and got 265/35/18 on the back of el and they dont rub... and ive got dobinson xtra super lows as well..but i did roll the guards which helps!

yeh and this dude got an xtra 2" of rim lol....they will scrup with 20"s 18"s sometime sneak away espescially with the lower profile tyre...but good move with the guard rolling

My AU is on Superlows, its got 245's on the front and 265's on the back, it doesn't scrub. :)
The guards aren't rolled either :)

Hey GlenauII what size rims do you have ,these 20 inch rims are at least 60mm higher than the stock 17 s ,was abit of a shock when i placed them together, the 20s dwarf the 17sl lol cheers .harley

what im trying to say tho the wider profile rubber isnt the issue its that with the combination of large rims....18" arent that bad but 19/20 they will scrub with stiff suspension and superlows

for 19"s and superlows it still looks highish at the back is ya sig the latest pic of was that pre-superlows?

i can assure you they're superlows, i saw the part number printed on the springs. Its got shorter shocks as well.

ok dude fair enough..i mean it certainly looks low with the rims i think it just looks smlightly higher at the rear but yeh i dunno...looks sweet but dude love the rims espescially the dish on them 9.5" wide suckers :P
