Recently converted my EA to 5spd, conversion went beautifully except that the revs hang at idle most of the time, anyway have been told this may have something to do with the VSS feed, unfortunately i dont know what that is.

So if any1 can help me out that would be greatly appreciated

VSS = Vehicle speed sensor (speedo), but I doubt thats the problem

Are you still using the auto ecu?

Quick and easy fix is to unplug the ISC and turn the idle screw up a bit.

Nah its got a manual ecu

ISC is that the same as IAC

Advanced the ignition timing and made the problem better but still there!

The engine used to keep running for about 10seconds after the key was removed from ignition followed by a respectable backfire, fortunately doesnt do that anymore but revs still hanging about 1500 rpm mark about 80% of the time.
