hey guys

Ive seen a guys car (also seen it on pimp my ride) where they put "sparkles" in the paint to glisten and sparkle in the sun. Can anyone tell me the type of sparkles to use?

Obviously they r very small to get through the spray gun

Any help would be appreciated

um depends what your talking about, your basic Pearl will sparkle in the sunlight, if you look closely you can see microscoping crystals in the paint that reflect in light. but if your talking about that one where they did that guys roof red then i think you need Metal Flakes, im not exactly sure how they are used because i would imagine they would clog up the spray gun, i think they may have sprayed them on with a wide nozzle gun in between layers... not 100% sure tho, go down to your local automotive spray shop/panel beater and ask them, if they are a reasonably good spray shop then they will work with House of Kolour aswell as PPG so they should know.

Most heavy metallics will have a fair sparkle to them in the sun.

Up close mine (phantom mica with pearl) look like this, which is about as much sparkle as you want if you don't want to set off gaydars as you drive down the street.

I think the stuff you're talking about is alot bigger, more like glitter and really stands out (as being gay) :P

Every car I've seen with the "big" glitter/sparkles has looked sh!te. No matter what colour. A pearl is the better way to go.
