hi guys. was at the drags a little while back and getting to melbourne the mod that i did works great. ( http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=32404 ) but while doing the burnouts and pre stage she heated up a bit much. sucked a little too much hot air.
i popped the hood for about 25 mins between mods and it helped but sitting with the engine going with the helmet for five minutes in pre stage doesn't help. anyone got any ideas how i can stop it from happening as much? i like the mod heaps for open road use, but not much good on the strip. might cover the box with tape when i get there like i talk about in the doc. next time ??? Cheers

Davies Craid Electric water pump, set it to keep running for about 10-15 mins after shut down, keeps the water flowing through the head and block until a thermo registers the temp level is acceptable to shut down the pump.

have a toggle switch in your cabin to override the thermo fans to keep them switched on whenever you like.

not enough room to put any ducts in, dont really want to mess around with that too much anyway.
was thinking maybe a few plastic pieces from where the radiator ends to the edge of the box might help keep the hot air separate, least for a while. actually the switch to keep the fans going might not be too bad. my main consern is keeping hot air from getting to the side where the holes are tho, not the heat its self

And so running the thermo fans should push the air to the rear of the engine bay, since the air box is at the front that is a help to keep the hot air away from the air box!!! |
