What do I have to change to utilise the factory smartlock pad to operate the central locking in an EB1, I don't want to use the smart lock system just have remote central locking.

putting smartlock into the series one would mean new wiring, key barrels etc. Fair bit of work. If its anything like most keypads for the immobiliser the unit under the dash should have a signal wire that transmits 12v for a short period when a button on the keypad is pressed. Just need to figure out how to tell the bem to unlock/lock the doors

Fit an aftermarket system - easier and probably cheaper (sourcing genuine parts..)

I have all the parts from my smashed ED XR6, I am unsure of what recieves the signal when the key pad is pressed.

BodyElectronicsModule. The EB1 has one but wont be compatible with Smartlock. I imagine its located behind the dash above the handbrake.
