I am in WA and is about to start re-building my NF Fairlane. I am starting with the body work and I am going to change the colour of my ride and another thing the weight factor of fairlanes is a big issue i find. I was only thinking and is wondering is it possible and how if i could like change the bonnet, maybe boot and a bumper or two, replacing with carbon fibre to lighten up the ride, is this all possible? Please tell me your opinions and i will be spraying over the carbon fibre anyway because I'm not interested in the look of showing that you have carbon fibre. If you know places or anyone or could even just point in the right direction it would be much appreciated. I am new to this all and don't really know much about re-building cars up from scratch so as much advice would be helpful. Thankyou. Mercury Silver is what i am interested in.

that sounds bloody expensive, you shoudl just live with the lanes weight and go for more engine power to overcome it

The CF really won't save you much just on those panels, like 50kgs max? And you can't insure it, and if you crash it you will probably die, CF kinda explodes in accidents.
You are much better off to do with the weight, or sell it and buy a ghia, and go from there. |

e-series panels arn't that heavy anyway. Its hard to justify the weight saving for the money spent on CF panels

E Series Fairlanes are relatively light. In comparison to AUs and BAs. Not that much heavier than the E series fairmonts.
