Hi guys,
Been a member for a while and thought that I would start a thread on the turbo build that I am doing on my Fairmont. I have got a rebuilt 13B S5 turbo that I will be using for a start, Megasquirt computer, 600X450X76 intercooler and some 30lb injectors ready to go. Just have to finish the hous renovations before I start. Will be sire to take plenty of photos during the build. I am hoping for around 200kw at the wheels but I guess time will tell. Cheers Paul

People can get 200rwkw using the stock ECU so I wouldn't imagine you would have any problems surpassing that figure. Make sure you get a rising rate fuel regulatr and maybe a bigger pump too.

It should be ok as the size (and appetite) of a 13b is comparable to the 4l.
Should be great.

I have a T3 of a vl on mine and it works well the exhaust wheel and housing on the s5 are much larger than what I have so should be good just be wary of the wastegate arrangement in them they are a poor design.

cheers Mic If they are like the VG30 T turbo [as in most T3's at the time ]... Just weld the dump pipe over the WHOLE rear flange housing with divider between the turbine wheel outlet and wastegate for atleat 150mm..You may have to cut some of the rear housing away to do this... Yes 90* turns into exhaust flow isn't the ideal design..

Better still if the car does not sell I will make a new manifold and utilise the to4e that I just put together and the 46mm tial wastegate that is on its way I did think of blanking of the original wastegate but for the cost i can make a new manifold and have a lot better set-up.
cheers Mic |
