{DESCRIPTION}
Other than Pete , who has saw these heads before, I didn't know about them until last night searching for 5.0L truck intake pictures (I wanted dissected or very detailed top intake pictures).

F7TE would mean a 1997 release. The GT40P came out for the Explorer in 1997, but I don't think I've heard of a GT40P refered to as an F7. It is the coding sequence Ford would have used though & there is plenty of info on porting them available.
E7TE was released in 1987 & yes, there is plenty of info on the net for porting those too. But looking at that link, those heads are NOT windsor. The canted valves & round intake ports point to a other design. Sure, they have E7TE cast on them (not F7TE as the article title suggests), but I believe these are big block heads.

Usually the GT40Ps have it stamped on the head in a couple of places.

Pete. I knew it wasnt the 5.0L, just had to look how f**ken wide it was, but it states they are 5.0L, so because it is on the web it must be true ROFL Just like all newspapers and books.

Yeah I know..... f**k Gonads!
You know those 460 heads are a very good design. Notice the exhaust side is missing the "dead area" on the bottom of the port that all old 429/460 and Cleveland heads have? Ive seen some of these ported and achieving very good numbers. Unfortunately the early carb type intakes do not fit these heads. Pete. |
