looking for some ideas reguarding going a little faster down the quarter.
ive got gt rims (wide and light) kn filter and i've drilled the airbox full of holes (did a tech doc on it) , home made shift kit, had taken the spare and some carpets out and a sport zorst. apart from that it is a dead stock EL. it did a 16.09 and i was happy.

Want to go back to calder and i want more. want to get to the 15.7's. i want to piss on my mates without throwing money at it.
the things i will have changed before i get back will be lower springs, pacey 4480 stractors, a set of expendable steelies for the back, fresh fuel filter (old one was clogged), iridium plugs, xr8 snorkel.

you can probably tell i am doing little things to it (CHEAP!!!) stuff to go faster. im not looking to go spend a s**t load on it. are there any other things i could do to give me that little bit more? i'd be over the moon with a 15.6 but might be out of reach.

some other things i could do are take the filter out but im not keen on that idea as calders pritty scummy.
'borrow' a stage 2 crow cam for the night
make the shift kit a bit firmer

im open to all ideas...

Cheers

its a stock standard auto el. unless it has skid tyres, there's no real need to drop the pressure. but if you decide you want stockies, i recommend dropping the pressure for launches.
i'd just be running around 1/4 tank of fuel.
if you really want to, why not stretch a stocking over the throttle body instead of removing the filter.

Hey fiftyone, Apart from what has been suggested theres not much you can do. Short of fitting a cam, the cheapest option would be a Wade probably a 1636, for Fordmod members they are around $120/$130 plus shims got mine for $50 from a engine reconditioner, for under $200 it will be a good mod. If your not breaking traction of the start line I wouldn't drop the tyre pressures.

i'd love a cam, but i have to think of the fuel economy too. another reason i dont want to go changing things in the engine i can't quickly change back

Fuel econmy in most cases especially with a small cam like a Wade 1636 or RPD R1, R2,R3and R6 will not be affected, unless you use this extra power every time you put your foot on the go pedal you wont notice any more fuel useage.
