considering the bf is basically the same car as the 2002 ba and the ve has had $1 billion spent i think holden have not made any real headway. no doubt when motor get their hands on them they'll give it the usual holden bias.

pretty much expected that. Surprised how well they marked the Futura tho. As said, they considering its brand new and was a 1billion dollar overhaul, its not too great news for Holden if it only 'just' nudged out its competition

WTF!!!!!!!!!

"THERE is no competition when it comes to exterior styling. The Berlina looks so much better than the Futura, which is a now a plain Jane.

With its flared wheel arches, coupe-like roof line and 17-inch wheels, the Holden wins the fashion battle. "

that surprised me, the spent a billion on the VE and it is still only marginally better than the BF? sounds like someone stuffed up since the BF has been around a while now. After that much money you would think that it wouldnt be that marginal.

I like that if you want to tow or drive hard buy the Ford, that is priceless..........

Remember this was comparing the Fairmont equivalent commodore to a base model falcon.
If ford drop the price of the mont to match the VE, i think it's game on.

very interesting review i think the bf still stacked up fairly well except for subjective things like style and ride. after driving my dads ba ute ive goto say the driving position is s**t

It was a Futura, so it wasn't really base model.

But I am tired of them [reviewers] calling the car's design dated! It looks better than the "plastastic" Commodore in my books. But it is funny how a car that is essentially 4 years old is still tough competition for the brand new billion dollar mistake that Holden just made.

Precisely. I personally prefer the smooth, sleek "business only" design the Ford has, that's how I am. But of course, we all know these reviews are written by turds that take it out onto a rural road and rip a patch and make their decision based on that. (Exaggeration)
