Does anyone have the specs handy for ford 6 rods?
Need to know what the big and little end sizes are
also the thickness of the rod at the big end.

looking at adapting some Chevy 6" H-beams.

Yes i searched for this and couldn't find what i wanted.

Please don't post s**t answers. Only factual responses ie: look it up in the manual or go measure a rod for me please.

kind thanks

What about you go & measure it yourself then research any aftermarket mop that will cast custom rods for the i6. Try US websites, there are alot of specialist over there that can machine custom rods out of billet steel or alloy then let us know the final cost.

or get your get yours tested, lighten & harden for less.

"try ford falcon i6 engine specs" on the search engine, you'll find it there.

Why does everyone feel the need to try to spark some sort of f**k debate on it.

With out debates the thread will just get lost in the forum pages without answers. the more people you draw in, the better the chance of getting your answer & be entertain as well.

Quick measurements from EF rod

little end .910"
big end 2.242"
width @ big end .993"

(Take this as a rough indication only)

I was looking at running a chev Hbeam rod in my 250 xflow.
Crank would need to be turned down to 2.1" or 2.0" but side clearances is where you would have most of the problems. I believe that the chev rods run a narrower B/E bearing but i'm unsure. 5.4MOD v8 rods may be the go...

Like me or not, internet doesn't equal real life.

You might see i have been a member here for quite a while, i'm here for the tech side not to pose as some wannabe expert, sell my busted junk or to make fluffy cuddly net friends with everyone who feels the need to post in a thread without actually answering the question. Hence my low post count. Look for me on other forums and you will see the same pattern...reasonable quality/low quantity.

Also i would like to think that when posting i can contribute something constructive and remain on-topic. I'm sick of threads that constantly get hijacked and run off in different directions and debates constantly rage about the same topics time and time again. Try searching for topics and you get nothing but pages and pages of s**t. More posts where the question is answered properly ONCE would be of great benefit to many people.

There is no swearing or abuse directed at anyone in particular. If it hurt your freakin' ears then SORRY but i just wanted to get in early to stop exactly this kind of in-teh-net keyboard warrior retribution happening, but it seems the same old behaviour just can't be beat out of some people even when its spelled out in the first post.

This thread could have been closed on my previous post as the question has been ANSWERED.

kthanxbye,

Aaron
