i found out the the other day the diff housing/axle tubes have been bent in my EL falcon when i hit a gutter.. the main problem is it a 9' diff thats been modified to suit an EL.. so i dont know how to go about fixing it... whether i should get it straighted.. or replace the 9' set up with an EL xr lsd.. or get a housing custom made to suit the 9' diff.. any help on what would the cheapest and quickest solution is as i live an unit block and the car is sitting at the end on jackstands and i dont think the neighbours would appreciate it..

any help is greatly appreciated

if the housing and axles are shot I wonder if you cant get a decent dollar for your diff centre on ebay for instance and use the money towards a standard diff

Do you actually need the strength of the 9"?

Id put a standard diff in to get it back on the road and then look at getting the 9" straight.

yep, just try to get the speedo sender gear and or upper contol arms with the diff. (arms not nesc)

I dare to say, but i doubt you'll bend a 9" by hitting a gutter... well.. without killing most of the rear end of the EL with it.

try not to be scammed as the diff shop may Want the 9" and try to swing a deal?

Also... by adding the extra weight of a 9" and the power of the 6cyl I strongly doubt you'll gain anything.. go get a nice EL BTR diff.. they're actually quite strong!
