hey all just finished the cpi to mpfi conversion on my ea and it starts the problem i got is that when i start it it idles like 2500 to about 3500rpm and it wont drop and the exhaust was glowing really bright and it got hot
any sujestions on this matter would be great i am so close but yet so far away driving me insane |

Without looking too much further glowing extractors/manifold is a sign of running too lean (or too hard! )

how can it run too lean isnt it controlled by the computer or am i not seeing something

Like I said not looking real deep but thats just my experience. Hopefully others are more helpful

do you think it could be anything like the idle solenoid or the throttle possition sensor

what position is the throttle butterfly in? can it close all the way?

what parts did you have to change, and did you have to mod the wireing loom for the intake manifold?
i got Manifold + loom Dizzy ECU Fuel rail + reg is there anything else i need, what about the fuel pump and fuel filter? |

fuel pump NEEDS to be changed. i dont this conversion with my mate on my car before i bought it.
also make sure all your intake pipes are attached to something, of you remove the hose that goes to the rockercover pcv valve the rpm jumps up to around 2000rpm instantly |
