ok so I've bought some el/ef fans.. I don't know where I can buy davey craig stuff here. So I bought some thermo switches.. I couldn't decide what temp to get so I bought one 70degree and one 90degree..

which one should I use?

and what size inline fuse ought I run ?

Well i dunno about the thermatic switch stuff because TBH i think that stuff is s**t.. I'm running my thermos in my EBII with the EL ECU as per factory specs and its bulletproof..

EF and EL's have different fans so just be aware of that when wiring up..

The factory setup has a 60amp fuse running straight from the alternator to the fans..

actually there is an 81. apparently its the pick of the bunch

there is an 81 what?

yeah I can't change computers cos mine duel fuel so it's needs it's puter. The thermo switches I bought are these small discs that when the surface reaches a certain temp they open the circut.. I was gonna attach them to the radiator face.
what temp should it run at though?

(is there adjustible temp swich from repco?)

ok you guys use the Davies Craig adjustible thermal switch..

what I've got is an electronic thermal switch, it s a probe that mounts on a surface and when it reaches a specific temp it opens the circuit. I have a 70deg. and 90deg. switch.

so when the surface of the radiator gets to 90deg it will switch on the fans.

Is this a viable way of doing it? or am I being a dodgy backyard kiwi?

go to a radiator joint to get the 81. im sure there is one

81 degree thermo swich you mean?

Jaycar only had 40, 60, 70, 90, and 100...

Use them both then

70º turns on the first one, 90º turns on the second one.

The fans are the same, just with different wiring. I have EF fans on my EB setup as EL fans..

Use this FM tech doc to sort it out.. it has info on wiring EF fans to EL/AU config! its not hard!
