hey guys,
a month or so ago i replaced the ef premmo sound in my mont with an el unit. everythings going good until the other day when i had to use my highbeams, the sound crackles whilst they're on and the display turns off (not just dims). i unplugged it all to see if i had missed anything, but it all looks right. is there an earth wire or something i could be missing?

sounds like either and earthing issue, or that your battery isnt holding enough charge.
get yourself a multimeter, start your car, turn the sound up.. and check the voltage of the battery, then while you still have the probes on the terminals - get a friend to turn on the high beams and watch what the voltage does - if it continues to drop, it would mean your battery isnt big enough (or needs a top up of fluid, replacement) or it could also be a problem with your alternator if the voltage coming from the battery stays consistant, but your head unit continues to play up, i would suggest its a problem with your wiring. hope this helps ya out.

ahh, im thinking it may just be the battery then. as i think mines rooted. didnt think it'd be the battery because as soon as the car is running everythings ok. just starting it is the trouble
