whats the best style of pod filter?

i am redoing my intake pipe and pod filter. well i never used to have an intake pipe, it was a pod filter right off the intake pipe.

so i bought a new intake pipe and installed it. only issue now is that the pod filter is now resting up against the side of the engine bay. as i dont want these to rub, i want a new pod which isnt as tall.

i will be installing a "wall" to keep the heat away from the pod filter.

i know K&N, HKS ect are the brands to buy, but i need to make up my mind on what shape to buy. so now im after peoples experiences with them. here are some shots of the styles available

the last has probably the best design as it has filtration thru the top as well as the sides. You can get a sort of "ram air" effect but at the same time it will suck the hot air from under the bonnet quicker

i have a cheap supercheap pod similar to the bottom one pictured. but it is pretty much wedged in there, i am after something a little smaller in height
