As the title suggests, has anybody converted their manual windows to power in an ED. Is the the doco (which is titled EF/EL power window conversion) relevant or are there differences I should know about? Also do Fairlane door trims fit Falcon doors?

Yeah Fairlane door trims fit.
Does you car have cruise control? If it does, the power window loom is already there :)
If it doesn't, you'll need to run the wires or get the loom :(
Other then that, I've never done the conversion, but I'd say it would be very similar to the EF/EL doco.

Hey Steve,

Its all pretty similar to EF/EL - since you'll have all the looms it'll be s**t easy.

No worries. I've just realised I'm also gonna need a new centre console to accomodate the switches. Found an EB Fairmont at the wreckers today. The interior was velour and didnt have any tears, rips, ciggy burns or rub marks. In other words perfect, except for the fact they had sold the windows and left if out in the rain for 2 years. Completely ruined it with water stains and dirt and s**t. I coulda cried.

its piss easy, just get the door looms from the donor car, all the body wiring should be there, mounting the regs is the same as EF/EL. Put a 30A fuse in the blank space in your fusebox (use a mont fusebox to figure out which one) and a 30A relay goes into the holder BEHIND the fusebox. (hope you have a bendy neck)

I spent a whole day making up a power window loom only to find out my car already had it!
