Just wondering if u can fit a factory cruise control into a Falcon that was not originally fitted with it without buying a stearing wheel with the cruise buttons on it?

erm, yes on ef/els if the car was optioned with abs, the plug for the cruise should already be there. you'd have to buy the buttons to attach to your current wheel though.

its possible but you would have to operate your own switches which would look pox.

How do they mount to the standard wheel?

Can be done with a few resitors and some switches. and the rest of the cruise stuff

See the tech doc: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=11
There is a seller on eBay who often has complete secondhand factory cruise setups on offer for around $200-$250 with full fitting instructions. You may be able to source the parts cheaper but they are getting much harder to get, in particular the control buttons which are now well over $200 new from Ford.

Quote: do they still sell the cruise buttons new at ford? You can buy them new through Ford or Coventry/Motor Traders.
I bought a new set years ago, if I remember correctly these cost me less than $40. However just recently I went to replace them as one button has a broken locating pin (common problem) and was quoted $240 odd from both Motor Traders and Ford (needless to say I didn't buy them..). I'm only guessing here but I reckon the high price now is due to Ford having to get them remanufactured as they didn't foresee the demand for these fragile buggers...
