Hi Guys,
I would appreciate some advice with the following problem, FoMoCo can't pin point it. Vehicle - AU Series 2 SR Sedan, standard rims 225/55/16 with Dunlop SP3000A, Pedders Sport Rider Shock & Spring kit (XR8 Ride Height) I'm getting a shudder through the whole car which seems to originate from the tail end and occurs at lower speeds the more weight you have onboard. It happens either: Driver Only - Around 115-120km/h top gear, minimal acceleration. 5 on board - Around 60km/h top gear, again min. acceleration. My thought and continue to think it is the torgue converter cutting in & out. So far FoMoCo have replaced the drive shaft. After re-reporting it they have blamed the lowering of the vehicle saying the angle of the axle into the diff is to great. Are they pulling my chain??? I'm really sick of getting jacked around and would like the advice of guys I'm sure have done this modification. Has it happened to you? Thanks in advance. |

By torque converter you mean the lock up clutch in the TC?
IF you wanted to test this theory you could always tap into the harness and rig up a switch - lock the TC when you want and see what happens...

lowering the car does make a difference, the pinion angle decreases. e series with coil suspension have holes on either side of diff to tilt the diff fwd or back. im not sure on the ideal angle but think its 4deg min.
But normally if the drive shaft vibrates its more of a hum that a shutter. is the car IRS? |

The back end is live, not IRS unfortunately.
Thanks for the replies thus far. |
