I'm tring to cut costs on my XF Fairmont Ghia project. I have seen a few ea's with 5spds cheap and wondered if it would bolt up with a standard XF 5spd bellhousing. Has anyone had any experiences with this?

The bellhousing is different. The box itself would fit though (did it in xf ghia ). As luck would have it I still have a bellhousing to suit....................pm me if interested.

Thanks for that! I too have an XF Fairmont Ghia.
The previous owner removed the 5spd (when worn out) and put in a four to cut costs. Fortunately when I bought it he chucked in the bell housing along with alot of other spares! I'll be selling off a four speed soon to help fund the five. Anyone interested?

Anyone interested? an e series 5 spd (t5) wont bolt up to a 4spd (single rail) bellhousing as far as im aware. i know for sure the t5 bellhousing have the clutch fork on the other side (to clear the cat converter).... just a thought.. -mitch

With a bit of machining, the T5 will fit a single rail bell housing...only downside is you need to bolt them together before fitting the entire assembly, as in BW506/507 series
