I drain the cooling system, refill it with water a drop in 1/2 a scoop of laundry powder. I them run it for a week then put the power flush through it then refill it properly with coolant.

Power flusher only costs about $40-60 new and most people have a compressed air source.

The laundry powder is caustic and eats most of the s**t out but I have been told to clean it out really well when using alloy heads. It works because most of the brown slime washed straight out of the coolant bottle.

Also you don't need to worry about coolant flash when running the same coolant colour. Also apparently there is a lawsuit in america against GM for the red coolant its apparently corrosive on alloy!

i pull the whole radiator out = only a few bolts to do it. bloody easy

Put the hose in one side and put the radiator on its side and wait till teh water goes from being brown to clear. turn it the other way and repeat till no more brown stuff comes out!
Bolt the rad back in and reconnect your lines - Fill her up with coolant and water mix - leave header tank cap off and let car run for half an hour on full heater fan and temp.
Once done turn it off and pop the lid back on

MY reservoir tank is the usual brown colour, what method has anyone found that will clean it up.
The standard flushing of the system never touches it.

yeah if you take it out and soak it in a bucket of washing powder and a bit of bleach it comes out like new
