Very very nice XF.

Its too late now but never use the bug and tar remover.
I used it once and it was no easier to get the bugs or tar off. I bought one of those Meguires lamb wool hand cloths that has the netting on the back side that gets bugs and tar off easier with very little pressure.
If you put too much pressure on it might mark the paint but I just let my and rest on the panel and rub it gently and it works fine.

Do you have any other close up pics of the damage?

nah i cant get any pics, the car reflects too much sunlight... it pisses me off because i wash/polish and detail that car every second weekend.. i look after it like its made of gold or something.... (i ever polish around the door latches if u look u can see the shine) and it just pisses me off, i put so much effort into it, i use a new product and it goes to s**t!
you cant really see much damage, there isnt alot of "damage" theres a few areas where its gone splotchy, but it gets to me becasue i do look after this car...

You could use meguires paint cleaner, then use the polish and then the gold class wax. I've gotten rid of marks that way. But as for the chrome bits I think they'll be stuffed.
I wouldnt cut and polish because that should only be done once or twice in the entire cars lifetime of the paint.

Yeah the pantyhose would work similar to the netting on the back of the glove but probably better and without scratching the paint as much.
