Hey guys, first post so please be gentle

Anyways, im putting a turbo on my EB xr6 and was hoping to get pictures of your piping setups from turbo - cooler - TB

I've seen Chefs setup but im leaning away from it as I dont really want to cut holes into the engine bay

the only other way I can really see is buy going under and through the suspension and k-frame, but then im s**t about ground clearence

any pics, suggestions and problems you fellas have from doing this would be awesome, thanks

Im pretty sure there have been a few threads about this. Have a search over the first couple of pages in this forum and see what you can find.

If that fails, try using the search function.

Welcome along. Keep an eye out in the WA events for cruises and meets and come meet some other enthusiasts as well.

You can go straight down just on top of the chassis rails and thru the radiator surround each side of the radiator, with 90 degree silicon bends, then have the intercooler mounted upside-down to normal,

that's how Dansedgli's EB was set up (I can get photos if you want)

yeah SileNceR I may need those photos, I think I know what you mean, i had a look and theres a bit less then 2 inch squared above the chassis rails, I like the idea about having the cooler upside down, I might have to expand thoses gaps, it would certanly reduce how much piping and bends i would need

cheers -FJ

Yeah expanding the gaps is easy as it's very thin metal and can be done with a pair of left and right handed tin-snips (if you're lucky enough to have a pair of each)

Means a lot less visible piping too, and far easier to hide what you have actually cut away

Cuts down the amount of piping required also:

Whats the big deal about cutting two non structural holes in the inner guards? If you decide to sell it or bring it back to original just weld the pieces back in.
Its not like cutting the roof off.

i dont know about the eb/ed's but my ef had a hole in the top guard panel
next to the battery where the wiring loom comes through, so i fit mine through there, but it was only big enough for a 2" pipe. mine made about 230rwkw so if your not going for huge power it might do, if the hole is there and you are moving the batt to the boot

If a cop is anal enough to ping you for holes in the guards, he would already have a long list if your car is turboed.
