Why are autos better for towing?

yea i think its as interceptor said, the clutch in them...i dont think you could get a smooth start without burning your clutch out :P

cept when you burn the auto gearbox out - there goes a few grand and them some.

think it more easy than better :)

Thats why it is important to have a tranny cooler fitted to a auto if you plan on towing anything.

yeh anyone running an auto should get the biggest tranny cooler they can and good fluid...hmm still yet to do mine :( espescially if you plan on later upgrading to a high stall torque convertor (Stall convertor)

lol.. i always thort autos were the worst for towing as they dont have the pulling power and because it screws your gearbox as the bands streach.

my manual laser tows this no worries.
i'd of thort a new falcon wouldnt have any trouble as good old Laser Power loves towing it.

its only a 2 tonne trailer.. the trailer has its own disc brakes so braking == not a problem.

thats all done now though.

bro's dad had to get it done - car went unlicensed while he waited to get everything done to it.

poor xr8 utes should not sit in a garage for a few months
