Just wondering on what you guys think is the best method of stripping a car back to its bare bones.
I've hit it with the paint stripper, and using an orbital sander with resonable a*** paper but I seem to be chewing thru them at a phenomanal rate.

you gotta be joking, unless the car is totally stripped back to just a bare shell then forget about it. The beads will end up every where you don't want them to go, like under the dash in your engine bay :x

to strip it you need to rub the surface with very corse sand paper to cratch it up, this helps the paint stripper to eat into the paint. But yeah paint stripper is the best way really

No i'm not actually he said he wants to know the best method to take the car back to its bare bones, and sand blasting/bead blasting is the best method.
Whether he is doing it as a shell he never said, and they have bead blasted a car on American Hot Rod with the inerior still in and none go in the car. They sand blasted the exterior and hand sanded the door jams (well i think it was american hot rod).

cause the torana after 33 years has had a few paint jobs super thick primer dodgy repairs, and it would be alot nicer to start again instead of going over something that may not be cocher. Yeah I should of said before I didn't want to bead blast or sand blast a few blokes with toranas I know that have had theres blasted have gotten slightly distorted panels at the end of the day....

even different color resprays dont always need to go to bare metal to get a great finish.... my mate is a bloody good spray painter.... he did one of my cars and he is a perfectionist... which is good in a painter....
