I asked what is close to the Garrett gt3540...
Quote: Hi, I would recomend the masterpower T-60 p trim .84ar
The gattett gt3540 is actualy a garrett gt3582 compressor 61mm/82mm. This is very similer to the masterpower t-60 60.5mm/84mm, The p trim is closest to the gt35 84trim turbine, however the p trim is slightly larger so i would recomend using with slightlly smaller housing ar to compensate this like .84 or .96. running the .84 or .96 will help to acheive similer flow and responce charictoristics of the gt35 1.06 turbine. The .96 is available with v band, the .84 is not. The t-60 is suitable for aprox 600hp+, speacial price for T-60 including 3day fedex airfreight is $980au. non in stock until 20th-25th of this month. So i guess I'll probably go for: t-60 p trim AR .96

Master power are good cheap turbo's..
The general consensus on turbo mustangs is they are o/k.... They are floating shaft bearings made in South America....

A.R is like saying 65 series tyres.... The size of the rim comes into it as well....As you can see the over all size of housing comes into it....
P trim in this case isn't size its the angle of blades and how close they are which changes the spool of turbine it can allow more exhaust to flow though at the expence of higher spool...I have twin .63 housings which SHOULD spool intantly ... BUT with 'P' trim T 4 T350 exhaust wheel it spools around 2800.. On Precision T3/4 hybrid for example... Here's comparow of VG30 turbine to T3/4 hybrids with P trim

Hey ebxr8, If you could be bothered an awesome idea would be a sticky in here on turbo sizes since u seem to have a fairly large knowledge of these things.

Check size of turbo then compare map to boost / power level you require...There is No point fitting a 1000 h.p turbo and fitting a MASSIVE wastegate to keep boost down to control power...
To the left is surge line, the aim is be close to the small island as much as possible... http://not2fast.wryday.com/turbo/maps/garrett.pdf On page 30 is the Gt37 map.. Here's some other maps... http://www.turbomustangs.com/turbotech/ ... ressormaps Here's some info on reading Maps and understanding A.R etc... http://www.turbomustangs.com/turbotech/main.htm This GT42 would be alittle too big as power you'd require is too high or CFM would be too high so it would make it very laggy...As an example.... This may help also...http://www.turbomustangs.com/techarticl ... turbos.doc Doc ll http://www.turbomustangs.com/techarticl ... 20list.xls See how these maps vary as turbo gets bigger??? http://64.225.76.178/catalog/compmaps/fig1.html

(waiting on complete specs) Thoughts anyone???
