Have heard of it causing fuel consumption issues ... especially if the vehicle is running "too" cool.
As long as it is well within the NORM range it should be fine though ... but if it's only just getting to the COLD section and no further ... then it could be an issue.

Your car probably needs more than 8 minutes to warm up. If you are only driving small distances then your fuel average will be much higher because the car doesn't get out of warm-up mode. |

Some cold mornings it can take my AU ute about 15 minutes of solid country road driving to get to running temperature.

Did you actually pull the power off the battery for a while and let the ECU reset?
... If the ECU is using its original learning from the dead sensor things are going to be all over the place. The Ford ECUs do a "fast-Learn" when they have lost power to re-tune, otherwise its a much slower and gradual thing. I dont know how long youd have to pull the battery for. For my Escape its only a couple of mins. Nigel |

Just a side thing. Since dropping down in fuel octane, I'm now only using BP'S 95 Premium. My consumption has gone down even more to 11.7L 100/km. Used to be 12.1L on 98.

Would desperately like to work out what is causing my high fuel consumption.
Take your car to a LPG mechanic, one with a 4-gas analyser and a Dyno and let them tune it for you. I recently purchased a car with LPG which was doign around 25-30L/100. After a very quick tune on the dyno its performaning ALOT better and now we're looking at 15-20L/100, which isn't too bad for a V8 on LPG.

Hi
When U do Mods like cold Intake eg SS bigmouth In a 4.1 liter motor it's best to to reset the computer by disconnecting battery and reconnect. That will reset the ECU and will start mapping the Running. As regards to LPG it is best to Use a Tickford ECU that is what Taxis use. has foar Maps .One for lpg Running And the Second Map for Petrol. Basically the timing is adjusted diferently. Hope that enlighten the subject a bit Cheers |
