has anyone else done this mod? if so what little prob's did you run into?

Shouldnt be too hard to do. Just make sure the window is up when it gets welded. The door panels arent terribly thick, and if you manage to burn a hole through then, youll need new door glass. Oh, and remove anything that looks like it will catch on fire. Chances are, it will :P

So wheres the pictures mate?

just use a strip of sheetmetal and screw or bolt it into place. you can then attach you inside grab handle to that.

On the XE the back doors require a small strip of flat welded in to accomendate the two front screws of the handle and the front doors already have the holes for the speakers

atleast that is all mine required.

As far as the electrics are concerned use the zl window loom and make an adaption cable to join the two looms (assuming that you are still useing the original loom and dash setup)
If you decide to use the zl traficator you need to make up a special loom addapter with a couple of relays for the headlights

I put the XF Ghia Door Trims into my Xd once. Not such a big job. To Get around that missing peice of steel, I riveted a replacement into the door.

Whole conversion too around 2 days including power window conversion etc etc..

Car looked awesome. The XF Ghia had Tan trims which were a much better suit for the XD.

Cheers
