not sure if this has been covered but my BA door lock on the drivers rear doesn;t want to work when i try to lock it, it makes a rapid clicking sound kind of like a ratchet and when locked if i try to open the door from the outside it makes the same noise and then unlocks

i have looked but can't figure it out. it looks like no other central locking system i've seen before

I had exactly the same problem on the same door in question. after a while, i decided to pull out the trim and handles to see what was wrong (didn't access the actuators as they're hidden by a cover). I shrugged my shoulders and put it all back together in hopelessness and then presto, it was working properly and hasn't missed a beat since.

I think the problem was the cable going to the handle wasn't set properly as it looked a bit different when I put it back compared to when I took it out.

ive tried fidling with the cable and with the locking mecahnism itself i've ended up just removing the metal bar that connects to the exterior handle so at least nobody can open from the outside as i don't want my $2000 stereo getting stolen!

i've fiddled with just about everything i might take it to the auto elec on monday, but as i'm real low on money atm was hoping i could do it myself i just hope it fixes itself like urs

well, another thing I was fiddling with was the child safety lock, move that around a bit and see if it makes a difference.
