Hey guys

Well the problem is when i brake to stop in traffic from speed like 60km you can fell thump thump thump intill u stop

last night i though stuff it ill rip the front rotors off and get pack the bearings and retighten the hub bolt bit tighter than last time so i did.
slap the tyres back on and went for a drive and it was like a DREAM for the first 4 heavy brake test then the problem came back.

i was reading the car book and they say tighten the hub nut to 30nm then loosen and back up to 1.5nm

i tightened the hub bolts up to 30 and they were great intill the great moved and the bearing settled and loose again

what did u guys tighten you hub nuts up to?

i know if i tighten then up to 45nm area the problem will go
but the books say 1.5nm LOL

any ideas?????

ive got new bendix GCT front and rear brakes and getting my rotors machined at work monday

if u had this problem how did u guys fix it?

Sounds like warped rotors to me. Just be careful when you do the nut up cause if its to tight the bearing will collapes and that will not be good.

To tighten,

For years i've nipped them up with a shifter.
Spun Rotor a few times.
Then backed off.
Then held the Shifter HORIZONTAL with the NUT and twisted the shifter to tighten.

This way you cannot crush the needles and over tighten.

Unless you've been eating s**t of spinach.

i think my rotors are warped...
as i put the brakes on like even gently, the steering wheel shudders, and the brake pedal pulses...
but the rotors and pad are only 2/3 months old....

tell ya what every bolts comming loose in my car cause of this.

from the braking and the pinion gear is smacking both side of the crow wheel and flogging it out

how i got a 4th gear rumble when i drive down the high way when diff cold but after 5 mins it goes when oil warms up.

Yeah, I got the same probs, goin down to Auto 1 2day cos they got 20% off rotors
