Ive got a EF fairmont, and just recently my ABS light started coming on so I did the diagnostics and found out that it was the left rear sensor, so today I got under and checked it out.. Turns out the sensor has broken in half, still all in one piece but the connections inside have broken, so that will need replacing..
So I have two questions, anyone have any idea on how much a new sensor is? and secondly how do you go about replacing it? From looking at the sensor it doesnt seem to simply unplug to allow a new one to be put on.. thanks |

get a second hand one, should cost you no more than $10
theres an 8mm bolt in the rear holding it in place, Its shapped in an L figure. you need to twist and turn to remove and install. iirc you might need to connect the loom just under the seat in the interior of the car. be carefull when removing the loom from the sensor as the clips that hold the cable on the lower control arm get brittle.

yeh sensor's all one peice,
Once in place it sits about 2mm away from the axle exciter ring. I am unaware if theres a Left and Right sensor tho. they MAY be the same, or even opposite. I could get you one, however you mightent' get it by friday :/ breaking yards quite often use the 'ABS' feature on a car to bump up they're prices, so if your in the know.. inform them that MOST EF/EL's have abs and he/she is being a ****tard! but then again... $30 bux is nothing when it comes to safety! g/luck
