Hi everyone I was wondering if any one could help me I was loosing coolant through my head gasket of my EF so I’ve taken the head off and it has some small cracks in it around the head boltholes. I was wondering if it would be worth getting them welded or would I be better buying a recon head. If it comes to getting a recon head what should I pay al so how much would a XR6 head cost plus ECU just for a bit more power. Also would it be better to get a metal head gasket and about how much are they

600ish for a reco'd XR head
200 for an ecu (not really needed)
$100 for an AU metal shim head gasket (a must)
$40 for head bolts.

I have a good EL XR6 head and ECU to suit at home. If you think of upgrading, let me know.

Its something I want to get rid of.
