Hi all.

To cut a long story short I am attempting to graft the dash from an EB Fairmont into my Bedford van. More about that project here..

Now in order to do this I need to identify the various plugs and electrical connections on the wiring loom. I've got a little bit stuck with a few of the abbreviations in the dash fusebox and was hoping someone could spend a minute and clear up a bit of confusion.

With reference to the picture above could someone please enlighten me to what the following are...

1.) "AUTO TX". It seems like automatic transmission? But if so what does it supply?

2.) "INST IGN". Something to do with the ignition but what?.

3.) "RR Dem". This is a 30A circuitbreaker. I'm assuming rear demister but it seems a little overkill to have a CB.

4.) "RAD PWR WDO". Another 30A CB. Power Windows perhaps? If so then what does the "RAD" mean?

5.) "CRT LP". This one I have no idea.

Many thanks for your time on this one.

OK let me try, The work shop manual is not real clear... but it helps.
Auto TX - Yep is Auto transmission
Inst IGN - Ignition feed to instruments
RR Dem - Yep is rear window demister
Rad PWR WDO - Pwer window curcuit breaker - Duno about the rad as the radio has its own.. The workshop manual only has PWR/WDO
CRT LP - Clock / Curtesy lamps - Also you have a 15A fuse in there and it should only be 10A..

Sounds like you have a better manual than me. Thank you very much for that. That's a big help.

No problem. I have the Ea to ED workshop manual.
If you need any scans of witing diagrams let me know and I will see what I can do.

Thanks for that. I have the Haynes manual but it doesn't seem to cover things like that. They don't seem to be quite as comprehensive as I remember probably because they try and cover off too many models in the one edition.

I actually have a selection of photocopies of the wiring diagrams from the Ford service manual which are a big help but the sections I have don't cover off the fuse box unfortunately.
