I know pyroay shattered or melted one. Although his was probably due to running 300+rwkw and 1000nm+ of tractive effort

Can't say I've melted one in the ford but I did melt one in my bike. This happened because I wasn't running baffles in the exhausts so (two stroke ) the power valves etc didn't work at their most efficient and it cooked one piston (least thats what I remember from about 10 years ago)

How hard were you revving it when it let go?????

Possible causes:
Timing chain broke or skipped a tooth (check for bent valves)
Running lean
Excessive pinging
Lack of oil

Lol I'd like to see that... probably closer to 600-700Nm, ur falling for the old tractive effort trick.
