My El Fairmont Ghia has the option wheels, they have plastic inserts, how do I remove them without braking them?

Remove the wheels and push them out from the inside the same as if they were to be balanced.

After taking the wheel off. Lay the wheel on the ground facing up. Bash the dust guard downwards with the back end of a rubber handled hammer. Work you way evenly around the wheel until they fall loose.

No guarantees, but none of mine broke when I did my EL's wheels. They look heaps better without them.
