I have swapped engines in my eb 3.9 to a 4.0 from an ed, the engine loom on the 4.0 is different so that will be changed can anyone tell me the difference in the throttle body and how does the kick down work on both engines. I have an ea workshop manual that shows a a kickdown cable both my engines dont have a kick down cable, is the eb/ed trans kickdown different to the ea???????

Just swap the engine over and keep your eb manifolds, sensors and looms. Less stuffing around.

Unfortunately I didn't realise the difference in the engine loom until the 4.0 was fitted into the car, I have removed both looms, and throttle bodies ready to swap over part of which I would have to do to change manifolds anyway. just need to workout the how the kickdown works.

kickdown cable is only fitted to 3spd autos as fitted to early EA's.
