Hey I'm getting a new key made up for my EF as I don't have a spare but they require the code but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find this code?

most good locksmiths should be able to cut a blank from your orignal.

Yeh but I've already got them to get it cut, he just needs to code, I've already paid him to cut it (Ebay).

Keys have codes??? I thought it was just the radio. Something doesnt sound right......unless its just like a landcruiser where the keys have a magnet or something in them.....

So let me get this right.... They have a copy of your key, AND YOUR ADDRESS. Why would anyone do such a thing??

EF dont need a code. jsut take it to your local locksmith and he will copy it for you.
if he has already cut it (somehow) it will work straight away

Tibbie locks have a code that relates to the design of the key.
If you know the code, you can get a key cut without requiring an original to cut from. Call Ford (or probably have to go in see a dealer) for the code. It will be a 6 digit number from memory. Its also how you can go into a Ford dealer, and ask a key to be cut just from the VIN number, as they have all the info on computer. |

Thats right, the code is a one letter followed by five digits. My EF spare has a small metal rectangular tag with this code. Supposed to remove it so no-one has access to your key code. You will have to go to Ford for it.
