Hi guys,
I left the ignition switch turned on for about five hours on a ef xr6 by mistake and now I have problems starting the thing.Sometimes it starts & runs rough, sometimes it wont fire at all. Could have something to do with the smartlock or coil. any ideas anyone. Thanks Lyndsay

well, leaving the ignition in the 'on' position is supposed to drain the battery quickly (so it says in the owners manual). Try and start it (jump starting if necessary) and give the car a long run to help recharge the battery, hopefully the battery isn't stuffed.

I don't think the ECU turns the coil on till you are cranking or running. On an old car with points you might find this problem. Doubt it with an ECU.

Im putting a new coil pack in. An autosparky reckons its probably the problem. Ill let you know how I go. Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it.
