Water pump impellers could be worn out. Normally you should spring a leak first but sometimes you don't.

Was the pump replaced when the engine was rebuilt (I would hope so!).

i just flushed the radiator and engine and put a new thermostat in and its still running hot...is there a chance it has something to do with the adjustment of fuel and timing with the tweecer...this thing has me absolutley f**k...!!!!

Unlikely but easy to test. Does one of the positions of your tweecer have the stock cal? Switch it to that and try it.
If not go to posi 5 which turns the tweecer off completely and try it.
Have you hit the thing with a laser temp gauge to make sure your gauge isnt faulty?

well going on the apparent flawlessness of the cooling system, its a likelyhood.
