hi

im about to put a el auto ecu in my ea because ive got the el manifold anyway ive got around the smartlock problem..

now can someone help me out with tricking the ecu so i can use it on a manual..
do i need to do any mods so the ecu thinks its in neutral or will it be ok because its already manual???

and what resistor type do i need to trick the ecu for transmittion temp and where do i need to install it???

i put the el xr computer in my car and its already manual, i tried it without the resistors and it starts n goes good,,altho i havent put thermos in yet,,but after doing the KOEO test it told me that netural switch was a fault,,even tho i had put resistors in it wouldnt let me do engine running test so i was sorter were blind in tht area, the computer also held my air vents in recirculate 4 sum fkkkkkd reasn,,hope thts of some help

ok
thanks
my main concern is that will the car start and run??

it has the manual loom already..
im not to concerned about the thermo fans yet as there conected to a thermal switch..

with the manual loom would this tell the ecu its in neutral..
or is that where i need to put a resistor???

ive heard about a resistor to trick the ecu to think the auto is at running temp or is this only for the thermo fans?????

the biggest issue for you is going to be the smartlock signal the EL ecu requires. Without this signal the engine wont start. I have smartlock override modules to solve this problem if your interested.

You need to install resistor for the gear select switch and for the trans temp sensor. Also the EL auto ecu revs will hang a bit at idle, and also it will blip when slowing down at approx 11-15km/h, to overcome this, cut the vss feed to the ecu.

ok thanks
would you be able to help me out with the type of resistors and where they should be placed??

and i will be getting one of your override modules aswell!
i will be sending payment tomorrow...

ok

ive been doing some research on the subject and i found a thread that shows where to put the resistors on the auto loom plug.i had a look at my ea ecu loom and i just realised its a series 1 ea it has no wires for the 4 spd auto .at the moment my ecu plug has 31 missing wires
so i will have to put these resisters near the ecu after i add a few wires to the ecu plug..

i know i will have to add a wire for the smartlock override module.(pin4)
and i will add 1 wire to pin42 for the trans temp but i still need to know what type of resistor and after i conect one end of the resistor to pin42 where does the other end go??

the other issue is the resistor for the trans position (pin30) i have this wire and its connected to the neutral switch on the t5 box do i still need to add this resistor??..

hi again
i still have a question..
when i add the resistor to the trans temp wire on the ecu do i run 12v to the resistor or does the resistor go to earth???

hi guys..

just an update .....
i got the smartlock module today and i went out and got a el ecu (6dbd) afaik its a el hybrid ecu but i dont think there is much difference in the ecu anyway....

after soldering a resistor in for the trans temp signal and adding wires to the ecu for the bbm switch and smartlock its all running good ..
it started and ran smooth straight away..
