Hi guys, in my EF falcon, i hope not but i think i have the dreaded headgasket problem, my car has been running pretty crap lately, but ive put that down to me running out of petrol and having a clogged fuel filter and injectors n so forth.
But lately ive been loosing alot of coolant and i have an oil leak from the front of the engine somewere, I admit that straight water has been run thru the radiator mainly....so that could be a reason on why its dissapearing. Today, i parked my car and i noticed tons of oil just came leaking out with coolant. Headgasket? (sorry if i've made any mistakes in this post guys, its 2:38 in the morn lol) Cheers. |

undo the oil filler cap, and look inside the cap itself. If it looks like melted marshmallows, then you have water in your oil.

look for the milky sorta substance under your oil filler cap the others have mentioned.
when u open the top on the radiator cap, is it still pressurised, even after the car has been standing for a while? does it smell like exhaust gas? is your temp gauge moving around alot? like rising, then suddenly falling? Check your oil pressure switch for the oil leaks, they are known to let go rather quickly and can piss out oil. 2 out of 3 of my ef's have done this in the last 6 months...good excuse to upgrade to the oil pressure sender and put in a xr/fairmont cluster!
