Hi
today i checked my oil and i admit i havent checked it in about a month and it was below half way. now i dont have any oil leaks but the engine is only 30000kms old and was rebuilt to a stage 5 its motor. now i do drive it a little hard sometimes but that wouldnt make it drink oil?? also its on lpg and it has backfired a couple of times cause i f**k up taking off and it backfired, could that have caused something? |

My wifes EF is the same, "gas".
No oil leaks, it does not blow the blue screen of death. but the oil is squeaky clean, compression is perfect but I do make it a habit to check the oil level twice a month. If you forget to check the level then most likely major wear has occurred.

it might have a turned oil ring '' this means that the oil ring has turned and oil is getting thew the cap in the compresion rings this can happen from time to time it is hard to trace when you have still have got good compression .

This is something I've starting to notice, at certain engine loads theres a hint of hazy smoke from the rear view mirror. invinsible at certain light condition. I see it more during dusk, dawn & head lights from the car behind. but only when I floor it MARK.TANIA wrote: it might have a turned oil ring '' this means that the oil ring has turned and oil is getting thew the cap in the compresion rings this can happen from time to time it is hard to trace when you have still have got good compression . I think you could be right MARK. either that or the oil is to thin.

I know, if its not bedded in the first 1000kms then it would never happen. just gonna have to take it back for re-ring. improper break-in procedure I suppose.
