hey guys how much do i have to off the rocker gear to negate the use of shims or minimal shims cheers guys putting new cam in this week

wont this make the timing chain lose.

The cam runs on the head not the rocker gear so the timing chain wont be affected. As stockstandard asked it all has to do with the base circle diameter, what ever measurment the base circle is reduced from standard you need to halve this and thats the amount to be removed from the bottom of the rocker gear, as an example if the standard base circle is 43mm and the reground base circle is 41mm the amount to be removed from the rocker gear will be 1mm. I havent done this myself but have done a lot of research and understand this to be correct.

0.667mm if rocker ratio is 2:1 ??
