I have checked out both. A soarer with the 1jz was $950 a year and the statesman was $900. but a SS (vx) would've been closer too $1000 but then you got to take it modifications. 3 or more mods than they get skeptical and even more they wont allow it.

I prefer a v8 since i already owned 3 and the whole Ricer/ 2 fast 2 furious scene with lancers in front of maccas car parks aint for me. Just the tag that jap cars wear.

ok so i got a little bored the other day( RDO) and went down to adelaide for a little test driving and cough cough fun. in total i test drove 6 soarers and 1 supra.i came to the desision that as cozy as the v8 soarer is. its a absolute slug. the tt model i found was a great car to drive, u could really feel it pull. but also i found that it is very easy to fine the 1s with bad service history, been flogged, as they ran like s**t. i stand by my original post. mmm 2jz manual soarer. thatd b a car and a half. lol oh yeah and for the extra cash ud havta look at the tt supra. nice car.

393 xe ghia stage 5 als raceglides c4,9" full spool 31spline moser axles. Will be looking at running high 9s low 10's

Supra is an awesome car, but from 10k for a tt soarer or 35 for a decent supra...

totally agree with u. i found that the soarer was i little more cosy as well. i think with a decent set og d2 coilovers or sumthing u will have a really nice car. and nt to mension the fact that u can get so much more power for such lesser cash than what u woulda been able to do witha xr8. this is the best thread ever. a good mix of both worlds. people agreeing on jap and v8 stuff. AWSOME.
jap tech and aussie brute

lol, not really interested in the 2jz, too much money really. the 1jz is fine for 12s, and i have no real desire to go faster than that! :p.
manual is a maybe, the 5 speeds can't handle too much power, and can't afford a 6 speed box lol.
