Should be fine my hairy a***. That could be dangerous to you and other drivers. All it takes is a bit of expansion and that tires just gonna pull a concorde and make you go all over the shop.

Go further mate no only does it look s**t but its dangerous as well. Broken or loose sidewall belts are a manufacturing defect so take it further.

He has to replace that tyre. If that blows (very possible) you could finish up anywhere (read:not where you wanna be.) It is outright dangerous and he has a duty of care to ensure that you are not in danger due to a faulty product.

Definitely a manufacturing fault, if you didn't kerb it.

This happened to me a few years back- new replacement from the tyre place, no questions asked.

Mike

Ask him "would he put it on his wifes, daughters or sons car"? Its a bubble/seperation due to either torn/snapped webbing. Looking closer at the pic, what is that brown mark on the side wall. Sorry it kinda looks like a scrub mark from a curb, gutter or round about? He may not replace it if its been abused. Good luck anyway but i would at the very least put that tyre on the rear or better still put the spare on.

i still think it will be fine but if you insist on a replacement the best you will get is a pro rata deal on a new tyre you will have to pay for the percentage of the tyre that has worn away already example if it is half worn you pay half of the full price.

dude... by looking at that tyreit looks like youv hit something and pinched the cords in the sidewall, perhaps a driveway with a fair edge on it... just goin from the rub mark from a little before till after the damage.

oh an by the way that tyre is sepo'd, it wont get better.... jsut gets worse, suggest you get a new one, even jsut a second handy for the time being

doubt that you will get any sort of deal on a new tyre, even if that was a manufactures fault fair chance they would just say it was under inflated or you hit a gutter, some how bringing it back on you.
