aka "freeze plugs" in colder climates.
From factory they are only pressed tin and tend to rot out eventually. Replace them with brass welch plugs. other tips, set your engine to TDC and zip tie the timing chain to the cog so you don't lose static timing. clean the surfaces with thiners and use hyolomar on the gasket. HTH

buy yourself a workshop manual, make sure you get the chain tensioner in correctly. keep crap out of the oil galleries and blow out head bolt holes before replacing head so they are clean and you get the right tension

same story apply for an ef??? will the AU head gasket still fit? i havent blown my head gasket but want to take the head off to do a few engine bay repairs!
